Before moving away, seme was confessed to by uke during elem and rejected him. Uke has moved on already since it was still when they were kids. But even though seme became a jerk when he came back, uke still fell in love with him, again. Spoiler, I guess... seme's motto was "if it's pointless, it's useless". If this was actually the reason for the rejection, I'd be more moved.
