"Team D5" and Erumu Rento revealed a new "D5 5-nin no Tantei" (D5 - Five Detectives) project on October 31. Rento is credited for the original work, and will also direct the project and pen the scripts. Artist Yasutake Kawahito is the project's illustrator. The first work for the project will be a live-action film.

The project features the following voice cast members, although it isn't yet clear if these voice cast members will also appear in the planned live-action film:

The franchise's story starts in a playhouse, where five independent detectives are gathered around a table on the theater's stage. On the table lies the corpse of Kōichi Hachiyo, a wealthy young businessman in the international IT industry. Kōichi's friend, "Master Q," has called these five detectives together to find Kōichi's murderer. Master Q has already paid each of the detectives US$1 million, and if they can find the murderer within 48 hours, while hiding everything from the police, Master Q will pay them each an additional US$2 million.

The EM2 Record offered a clear file for the new franchise during the Animate Girls Festival event last Friday and Saturday.
