News Gang King Manga Transfers to New Magazine, Teases Ending
Manga will appear monthly in Evening magazine starting in December

This year's October issue of Kodansha's Bessatsu Shōnen Champion magazine revealed on Saturday that Daiju Yanauchi's Gang King manga is changing to Kodansha's Evening magazine and is starting its "last spurt." While Kodansha publishes Evening bi-weekly, the manga will appear in the magazine once a month. The manga will debut in Evening in the first 2018 issue, which will ship on December 12.

This year's September issue of Bessatsu Shōnen Champion had teased last month that the manga would have an "important announcement" in the October issue.

The manga's story follows first-year high school student Katsuya "Jimmy" Ōnishi at Barajūji Academy. As a child, he was saved by a tattoo artist known as the "victorious needle." Entranced by this person, Katsuya is inspired to follow the same path and aims to be the best tattoo artist in the world.

Yanauchi launched the manga in Shonengahosha's Young King in 2003. The series moved to Kodansha's Magazine Special magazine in 2016 after a two-year hiatus, and in March 2017 it moved again to Kodansha's Bessatsu Shōnen Champion magazine. Kodansha published the 29th compiled volume on March 9, and will publish the 30th volume on December 17. The manga has over 10 million copies in print.
