10 Creative School Clubs in Anime You Would Like to Join

Schools in anime get all the interesting clubs.

Sure, there's the average sport teams, traditional arts, and the book clubs but they also get robot building, card games, and equestrian clubs. Here is a list of some fun, unusual and creative school clubs in anime.

1. Light Music Club (K-On!)

The ironic part about this club is that it is a "Light" Music Club. When you hear that genre, you think "light" orchestral music, but the girl band, Ho-kago Tea Time! plays catchy, loud rock music.

2. The Going Home Club (Chronicles of the Going Home Club)

If your mother is nagging you about extracurricular activities for college applications, just tell her you decided to create the Going Home Club.

A club that allows the members to have fun and do whatever they want.

3. Eyeglasses Club (Meganebu!)

Akira is convinced that there is nothing better in the world than glasses.

Dedicated to spread his appreciation throughout his rural school, he stars a club for other bespectacled classmates to compare styles, prescriptions, and everything else related to glasses.

4. Host Club (Ouran High School Host Club)

Ouran High School's host club only works because it barely operates like its real-word counterpart.

Real host clubs are part of Japan's "water trade" which includes the country's seedier sex work establishments.

5. Student Council (Seitokai Yakuindomo)

The student council oversees all the clubs at school. If you join the student council, you have all the power.

6. Classical Literature Club (Hyouka)

One could assume that members of a Classical Literature Club have excellent analytical and reasoning skills due to being avid readers.

However, the members of this particular Classical Literature Club apply these skills to solve mysteries.

7. Karuta Club (Chihayafuru)

Karuta is a traditional Japanese game that tests knowledge and swiftness.

These cards are based on the Hyakunin Isshu, a classical Japanese poetry anthology complied by Fujiwara no Teika.

These players are so fast that they only need to hear the first syllable of the poem to grab the card.

8. Student Cultural Research Club (Kokoro Connect)

The Student Cultural Research Club sounds so serious and official. They do important business!

9. The Neighbors Club (Haganai)

We think the Neighbors Club is an excellent club to create. Some people are loners or have a tough time making friends.

So a club dedicated to these types of people can help them develop their social skills and create strong bonds with others.

10. SOS Brigade (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya)

Paranormal clubs are pretty common in anime, and for the most part The S.O.S. Brigade is no exception.

What sets it apart is that, with the possible exception of the narrator, all the members are themselves paranormal. The club brings together at time-traveler, an ESPer, an artificial human, and Haruhi who can manipulate subconsciously manipulate reality.

Which of these anime clubs would you want to create at your school? Let us know!
